have you guys noticed the reporter pronounced “Jenny Shu” when referring to Jenny?
I was sitting in the United Lounge at Narita Airport (Tokyo) with my Red Sox baseball cap on. (We are a Nation You Know!) when I meet Steve Young Director of the American Taiwan Institute. Basically he is the Ambassador for the US in Taiwan.
I mentioned to him Chinesepod. He had not heard of it! I will follow up with him. Your marketing manager for Taiwan while now living in Taiwan.

I think the program is great! But the only problem is the payment after the trail period for the ChinesePod subscription is through wiring the money to China. I have to cancel my subscritption becuase of that. Is there any other form of payment?

I felt so surprised when I met chinese pod.
Dear friends!
My language is czech and slovac and the chinese im studying through english. The chinese pronuntiation and sense of the word is based on the tones and the music, (very agresive)that I have to hear during the conversation is disturbing me very much, because the music are the tones too.
I would like hear the dialogs without any music beside.

My wife and I just got back from three weeks in China and we have a lot to work on as far as our Chinese. My wife had the experience of leading a 5th grade English class near Pu Cheng. The kids were very enthusiastic and their English writing is better than kids here in the US. I am happy that Chinese is getting the exposure shown in the NBC program. I pushed for Chinese to be taught at our local college for three years. I sent in info on how important Chinese was and hounded the administration. Last spring we got the first semester of Chinese. This fall the same first semester class was repeated with the hope of getting enough students to have a second semester class. I like real classes as I can get feedback on how badly I pronounce Chinese. However, Chinese Pod is needed because a couple of classes a week is just not enough. The three weeks in China helped and I actually was understood by people, but in many cases I got back strange looks. Most of this was caused by not getting the tones right. I am wondering how can Chinese Pod help me in this regard? In any case it is fantastic that Chinese is getting the airtime and that Chinese Pod is helping to lead the way. I have also seen Chinese Pod referred to in a number of economics magazines, so Ken and Jenny you are become a world force. Maybe we will be able to even have a third and forth semester of Chinese at our college if you keep up the good work!
Fantastic stuff guys, you are changing the way people learn languages for the better. Deserved recognition for the innovative idea that is ChinesePod.

You are all doing the world a great service. I began learning Chinese when I was a graduate student in Chinese History in 1975 because in the US Chinese was not taught in high school or undergraduate except in very few schools. Now it is everywhere and I couldn’t be happier. Chinesepod is an excellent way to learn spoken Mandarin and you all do such a great job. Great to see Ken finally. The NBC Nightly News piece was right on the mark but about 35 years too late.
